Clickit supplies power solutions for workplaces. When a project required documentation of CO2-eq, the company began carrying out LCAs on its products. Martin Brage, managing director and founder, is convinced that more requirements will follow, and he would rather have the figures in order in good time.
Clickit started with the products that sell best. That gave them documentation ready for the tender stage. It also gave them insight they had not expected. Transport was the biggest surprise: the LCA showed that the difference between air freight and other modes of transport was far greater than expected. Gathering the data also showed how differently suppliers know their own products. And when competitors face the same requirements, being able to show documentation becomes an advantage.
“We know more and more requirements are coming, so we wanted to be a little ahead,” says Martin Brage.
If you sell products where the requirements have not yet arrived, the case shows how a small company approached it and what it gained from starting early.
